Theater Teaching Artists Needed for New Online Workshop Team
The Young People’s Theatre Project is a collection of teaching artists who have a 30 year history of creating theatre education resources and opportunities for both students and educators. Current programs include our anchor Summer Performing Arts Camp, Second Stage Summer and Outreach projects, and Young Actors Studio. We are expanding our outreach programs to include weekly online workshops with elementary and middle school students this Fall. These workshops will consist of 60 to 90-minute online sessions with 10-15 students at a time.
We are looking for passionate teaching artists from across the Portland area who will develop and lead workshops on Creative Drama and Basic Theatre Skills in collaboration with each other and with other YPTP team members. Our ideal candidate has practical experience and training in both theatre and education, a love of working with elementary and middle school students, and strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Prior experience developing classes, workshops, or other guided theatre work would be a plus!
Compensation will be based on the schedule of workshops assigned to each team member, based on a rate of $60-$75 per weekly session, with additional allowance for prep and development.
If interested, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with brief answers to these prompts:
- What is your theater/education history?
- What effect has theater education had on your life?
